How do i turn off the passenger airbag in a volkswagen passat?

Volkswagen
superclingan asked:

Its a 2001 (X reg) and i cant find a button or anything to turn off the passenger airbag!! I have a baby so i need to turn t off!

The manual says nothing.

Please please help!!!

Thanks, Kiwi
Done it now, oh and it says in the vw manual to put children under 6 months in the passenger seat so you are all wrong im afraid. It also says if your travelling alone you should put it in the front so you can keep an eye on it if its choking etc.

Thanks anyway

it shouldn’t turn off and the baby shouldn’t be riding in the front anyway.

that child should be in the bag for his or her MAXIMUM safety, DAD!!!

I beleive you use the ignition key on a lock inside the glovebox or it may be located in teh drivers side door bin
