it was popular in the 60s and 70s (not so much in the 80s)…it had a small motor and needed a push to go downhill…it had thin tires and a spare tire mounted on the front..it was about as much fun as a yugo
Mark H obviusly never owned a VW bus nor did any one he knew. if so his answer would look like this:
models: too many to list here, over 20 styles of camper alone throughout the years they were popular, in the eightys too mark. they started building them in the early 50′s and still make them today. a guy in texas has a 2003 that most would not know that it wasn’t from the 70′s, but it’s brand new.
MPG: it varies and depends on your mechanic(or You). mine is fuel injected and gets close to 20MPG. some get better many get worse. skip the carburated models if you care about MPG.
Interior: depends on the model most model years may look the same on the outside but are layed out dif inside. nothing fancy everything functional (germans LOL). the camper models are usually pretty posh especially the 74 and up westfalia

as for pics I don’t know how to post them here but that link has thousands. in your life time you could not read through the whole site or view all the pics. it’s the biggest VW club in the world. Or should I say it’s “the worlds VW club”
